Personal Description:

I graduated with a B.A. in Communication and Culture and a B Ed. specializing in Chinese as a Second language from the University of Calgary. I am now a registered teacher in Alberta and has taught Kindergarten through Junior High in many public Chinese bilingual schools. I am an energetic, passionate and experienced teacher. I love working with young children, teaching Chinese and promoting Chinese culture to them. I believe that students are able to fall in love with Chinese, understand Chinese culture very well in a relaxing happy atmosphere.

Tutoring Experience:

Mandarin Teacher Sept. 2014 to Present Calgary Chinese Private School, Calgary
• Designed, planned and taught Mandarin Chinese weekly to Canadian Children from Grade 2 to Grade 6
• Created a relaxing and playful atmosphere for students to learn using creative Chinese games and cultural events.
• Integrated technology into lessons, including showing culturally authentic videos, songs and other interactive content
• Past school years with 90% of the students passing the final exam, 80% of them with intermediate proficiency in speaking and listening

Private Chinese Tutor Sept. 2012 to Present
• Professional language and culture tutoring for local Canadian children and adult who learn Mandarin as a second or third language
