Personal Description:

I am an internationally trained secondary school teacher of Mathematics and Physics.At present I am pursuing a course in Biomedical Engineering Technology at Centennial College. Once every week I volunteer at Sunnybrook hospital in the Courtesy Services department. Some of the values I strongly hold are determination, courage, and confidence (and I believe the subjects I teach contribute to these values as well), not forgetting patience and endurance (perseverance).

Tutoring Experience:

I have a teaching experience of over 15 years in teaching the subjects at both the Ordinary and Advanced levels. Currently I am tutoring Maths to College students. I work well with learners from various academic backgrounds and interest levels. For those who want to learn one concept at a time, I have the skill to do just that. For those who want to have a helicopter view of the concepts and then dig up the details on their own, we can work together comfortably.

Tutoring Approach:

We begin from a clear understanding of the learner's educational and career goals and discuss how the subject(s) (Math and/or Physics) will contribute towards their achievement. We then identify challenges and obstacles that need to be dealt with, and set targets and deadlines to beat. I also identify the learner's preferred method of learning and adopt my teaching style accordingly. And then we embark on the learning journey. The learner is encouraged to apply their mental effort in the process, so they can develop a number of important skills. One such skill is problem-solving: a learner will be able to identify areas where they can apply their newly acquired knowledge.
