Tutoring Experience:
I'm a 2021 graduate from the University of Waterloo with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology (molecular physiology specialization). My undergraduate degree was complete in McMaster University in 2018, majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in biochemistry with first class honours. I have ~4 years of tutoring experience (ranging from grade 2 - 2nd year undergrad) and have been a teaching assistant for 3 undergraduate classes.
Tutoring Approach:
Practice problems are key. I use questions and prompts to help the student figure out how to solve an issue that they have on their own. If problems persist, then we work through a problem together to solve the issue. I generally use flow charts and critical questioning (appropriate to the student's level).
