Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Jackie! I am a post-secondary student planning on going into youth work. I have worked with children and youth for over 5+ years now. I love to be creative in my work and love to learn new things, while meeting new people. I am very organized and like to use time effectively, while also making sure that others understand what is going on.
I enjoy reading and finding a good book. I have a passion for Disney and always enjoy having fun, even while doing work. I play a few different instruments, like piano and bass clarinet, and enjoy helping others learn theory.
A lot of people describe me as a child at heart, because I am friendly and get along well with children and youth alike. I love games and will incorporate them in anything as I do, as I want every experience to be a good experience. I love feedback and honesty, as I like it when others tell me how they are doing, or how I am doing, and let me know the truth.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught children literary skills for many years now, as I helped with their reading and writing skills. I've taught them different areas of grammar and spelling skills as well.
Throughou**Contact Detail Removed**mentary and high school, I was always asked by teachers and classmates to help other students, in my grade and those younger, throughout many subjects. As I participated in many extra-curriculars to improve my academic abilities and to help others when they were confused, I graduated at the top of my class. I made sure to participate in math contests every year to challenge myself and set new goals.
I always love helping others with areas that they don't understand and wish to make sure that everything is understood to the highest degree, no matter how long it takes.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring relies on what needs that the student will have. Depending on their requirements, I will create a schedule and program that helps the student in whatever area they need. After my program is made, I will create practice sheets for the student so that way, they can practice what they learned throughout the week and improve their skills.
I will come up with enjoyable yet helpful approaches to the subject matter as to help the student but also so they have enjoy themselves in the process. As mentioned, I will try to use games and fun activities to learn as I find students learn more when they are enjoying themselves.
I will constantly check-in with the student to ensure that they are understanding and I encourage questions, as curiosity is a wonderful approach to learning. I am flexible with dates and times and if there are scheduling conflicts, I am open to reschedule.
