Personal Description:

Hi there! My name is Isabella and I am a University of Toronto St George, Victoria College, 2020 undergraduate alumnae. I lived in France for ~2 years, where I attended a French High School in Rennes, la Bretagne. I have also attended classes in Tours and Aix-en-Provence, France. I worked a bilingual position for an international travel company called Education First, where I assisted families in English and French. I have an immense passion for French language and culture that I look forward to sharing!

Tutoring Experience:

Have experience tutoring high school students in French language.
Worked as an Activity Leader for International Language School Canada's (ILSC) summer program (2018), where I mentored primary to high school students from all over the world in English language and culture.
Volunteered from 2019-2020 at Working Women Community Centre, tutoring primary school students in variety of topics (basic French, English, basic sciences / math).

Tutoring Approach:

My 3 main values include: flexibility, empathy and patience. Flexibility, because it is important to recognize that one method of teaching is not applicable to all students, and multiple methods may need to be adhered depending on the student. Empathy, because every student experiences education differently-- this is incredibly critical for every tutor to understand in order for them to build a healthy, open-minded relationship with each student. Patience, because concepts are not thoroughly understood over night. It can take time for students to feel comfortable and accomplished in understanding a topic.
