Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Hilary. I am a graduate student at the University of Montreal studying molecular biology and I am looking to help teach biology and chemistry to students from a distance. I have a Bachelor of Science from Western University in which I graduated from with honours. My skillset and education lies in biology, chemistry and psychology. I also have much experience working with kids as a YMCA summer camp counsellor.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience teaching math and holding a responsibility for young children at summer camp. I have also taken apart of preparatory courses such as Prep101 at Western University and French-language lessons at the University of Montreal.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that patience, flexibility and confidence are key pillars to tutoring. As a molecular biology research scientist I have an adaptable schedule that allows me to tutor at almost any part of the day. Having taken part of many tutoring programs throughout my education, I recognize the importance of allowing students to learn at their own pace and maintaining composure when a concept isn't clear. Finally, I strive to help students reach a confidence in their work so that they can eventually learn to solve problems independently.
