Personal Description:

I have always been a kind and compassionate person.
I am always encouraging, inspiring and nurturing my young students as if they were my own children. I want them to succeed!
I have have been drawing for over 49 years.
I have been self trained and studied visual fine arts at Niagara College, fine arts at Ontario College of Art and Design, fashion design at Ryerson University, and classical animation at Sheridan College.

My goal for students is for them to outshine me and be
confident in drawing.

Tutoring Experience:

I've taught drawing and water colour painting to students ages 6 - 72 for over 33 years (since 1990).
I have taught arts and mathematics at the Summer School Enrichment program at North Albion Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, Ontario
I worked as a Behaviour Interventionist for 3 years teaching autistic children.
I have taught drawing class to young Chinese children for Chinese School on Saturdays.
I have also taught teenage students with ADHD and dyslexia.
I am currently doing private tutoring, and teaching at the City of Coquitlam in British Columbia

Tutoring Approach:

I care for all my students and I want them to learn, understand, be confident and succeed.
I know what's it like to have a teacher who does not care.

I take a lesson and make it simple for any student of any age to learn.

I teach concepts in foundation drawing.

If you flew to a country you've never been to before and you had no map and no cell phone, you would be lost.
The drawing concepts I teach acts like your map. This map guides you to help you to draw.
Without this "map", you will be lost and confused when drawing.
A student who learns and master these concepts can draw anything.
I teach and guide the student to understand these concepts
one at a time until they are confident to do it on their own.

All my students are given drawing tests throughout the course to test what they have learned.

I also teach figure drawing, gesture drawing, classical drawing atelier, fashion illustration (also draping, pattern drafting and sewing), portrait drawing, perspective drawing, character design, concept design, storyboarding, animation layout, and classical animation.
