Personal Description:

I can provide effective, thorough instruction in a number of reading and writing skills. My background in several humanities fields allows me to provide a unique perspective as an English tutor. I can help with basic skills for younger students, or I can help older students with the demands of college-level English classes. I can also help students get ready for AP exams that have an essay component.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and History, and I graduated with honors. In addition to working on an honors thesis, my background as an editor at my college newspaper gives me a detailed understanding of the writing process.

Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy of teaching is student-centered. To be the best English tutor for a particular student, I need to understand their goals and needs. Once I understand their situation, I am able to tailor my instruction to help them learn and grow effectively.
