Personal Description:

A passionate educator who strives to spread meaningful change by assisting others acquire the knowledge and language to be effective thinkers and communicators.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring social subjects such as political science, international studies, sociology and history since 2015. The majority of my tutoring services for undergrads consists of clarifying complex concepts and theories abd assiting with outlining and academic essay writing that meets the standards and conventions of writing at the university level. Furthermore, I have proof/read 50 plus SFU/UBC applications for countless students who have been succesfully admitted to university.
Aside from my undergrad services, I also have been teaching ESL (vocabulary, speaking reading, grammar and writing) at a private college in Vancouver Berton since 2015. I am becoming more versatile with dealing with student group dynamics and anticipating the daily challenges of teaching daily.

I have also volunteered as a facilitator and Kurdish/English translator. As a matter of fact, it was while volunteering as an adult literacy tutor and a conversation facilitator for LINC and a citizenship class at ISS of BC that I discovered my passion for teaching.

Furthermore, I had the privilege of teaching and supervising international students for a private college's summer camp consecutively since 2016.

Tutoring Approach:

My appraoch is founded upon the belief that educators are must act as the supporters and mentors that can guide students to unlock their hidden potential and talents. Depending on the subject and level, my methods may vary but I often emphasize critical thinking, inquiry and scaffolding as effective teaching strategies to aid students in developing self learning skills that will allow them to be able to effectively comunicate and grasp difficult language, concepts and ideas.
