Personal Description:

Hi there! My name is Grace and I have spent the last five years teaching Grades K-3 outside of Vancouver. I have a Bachelor's of Education with an art minor. My husband and I have relocated to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We have a cat named Vulcan and a corgi named Gemma. We love to hike, travel, and relax! One of my greatest passions is working with kids and helping them learn and I consider it very rewarding to help kids overcome their academic obstacles! I no longer work as a teacher full-time as I'm completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, but I miss working with them and would love to support your child on their learning journey.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 15 years of experience in private tutoring, teaching at an elementary school, and online teaching (specifically for English learners). I started tutoring in my first year of university. I've taught all subjects K-3. I've been employed with Reading Town tutoring and I taught English online with VIPKid for three years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a passionate educator and create a positive learning environment with quality instruction based on individual needs and interests. My approach to teaching is patient and flexible. As a critical thinker, I work to develop the critical thinking skills that students need to improve in school and prepare for the future. I believe tutoring should be meaningful one-on-one learning. It should be made fun but yet be enriching and valuable for the allotted time. I always have a strong rapport with my students and we collaborate on learning together.
