Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Giulia and I am an OCT with 10 years of teaching experience. I've taught Grades 2-8, ESL, and Special Education. I work with my students to ensure that they understand the material and work to their potential. My goal is to see them thrive and achieve success.

My lessons are differentiated so that they reach all students. Technology is incorporated to provide a visual aid when teaching concepts. Each student learns differently, so my lessons and tutoring sessions are tailored to best fit the individual I'm working with.

Tutoring Experience:

I have four years of tutoring experience, focusing on Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Geography, History, and Science. I worked one-on-one with my clients and our sessions were tailored to address the specific curriculum areas where students required additional support.

Since 2014, I have worked in schools as an occasional teacher, a long-term occasional teacher, and now as a contract teacher. As such, I have a lot of experience working in large and small group settings on many different subject areas. I am quite comfortable with the Ontario curriculum and familiarized myself with the recent updates.

Tutoring Approach:

I tutor elementary age students and create a supportive atmosphere with dynamic and engaging lessons. My lessons are not a one size fits all; rather, I tailor them to meet individual student needs. Understanding and incorporating their learning styles into our sessions lead to success. Furthermore, I ensure that each meeting focuses on the concept or subject area in which the student requires extra support.

I have begun sessions with initial assessments to determine what level at which the student is working and work to build lessons from there to address any learning gaps. I aim to ensure that students understand the material and are able to explain it in their own words, as this best demonstrates their comprehension.
