Personal Description:

I'm a husband and father of two school-aged children (1 in middle school, 1 in secondary school). In addition to teaching, I've been heavily involved in a youth leadership development organization (for ages 12-18) for over 30 years.

Tutoring Experience:

over 15 years as an elementary school teacher in the Ontario Public School system. Grades taught: Full Day Kindergarten, Grade 4, 5, 6, and 8.

Tutoring Approach:

I work diligently to make connections between the information the tutee's school teacher has provided on a topic, and the relevant expectations in the Ontario Curriculum. Then, using the resources provided / recommended by the school teacher, I provide whatever assistance the tutee requires to improve their understanding of the concept being studied. I'm prepared to contact the tutee's school teacher in order to ensure my understanding of any assigned tasks or concepts aligns better with that of the school teacher.
