This is how a referee rated Gabrielen:
My name is Gabrielen but you can call me Gabby. I recently graduated from medical school and I am now preparing to apply for residency this year. I enjoy teaching students, especially science subjects but I am able to tutor many subjects outside of the sciences. I have been in school for many years and have learned how to study efficiently. I want to share all my tips and tricks with you throughout each session. My main goal has always been to become a doctor. Throughout that process I was able to play basketball and earn a scholarship to help me pay for college. I also got involved in many associations throughout college. I think throughout school I learned how to have balance. I know there is a time for studying but also a time for family, friends, fun and hobbies. Balance is one of the keys to succeed. I hope to share my experiences with you to help you, not just with subjects you are having difficulty with, but to also succeed in all areas. I believe it is important to always do your best. I hope we can work together to bring you to a point that you have confidence in topics that may not be your strongest right now.
Throughout college I worked as a teacher's assistant and tutor. I have experience tutoring science subjects, math and english. In medical school I did not have as much time to tutor but I did hold study sessions to help students with anatomy. I have worked with students of all ages and have learned how to explain some of the hardest medical concepts in simple terms. This skill I believe will help any student that I may encounter.
Each session I will always have a plan set ahead of time. I believe it is important to be organized before the session starts so that no time is wasted. Each 1 hour session will have a 5 minute break (more if needed) depending on how well the students is progressing. I don't believe in forcing someone to regurgitate information. I will explain concepts thoroughly and test the student throughout the session to see if they have gained an understanding of the topic at hand. If necessary, I will also have a 10 minute drill session in which I ask the students questions from either past sessions or the current session to make sure the must-know topics have been understood and mastered.
Each session will be different depending on the students needs. I will customize the session to help the student improve and gain confidence in the subject area in which they have trouble in.
I require that the student puts 100% effort into the subject when we have a session. I do not want to waste your money or time. When its time for tutoring thats where our focus should be.
I want my students to succeed. I know we may not always enjoy a certain subject but with effort and consistency we can get through it.
I look forward to working with you!
