Personal Description:
I am a professional sponsored rock climber and the first Canadian in history to climb a grade of 5.15. I am an energetic, patient, and understanding person. I graduated in Engineering Physics from Queen's University and was awarded the gold medal for achieving the highest standing of my graduating class. I worked as an Engineer-In-Training for 3 years before my focus turned to rock climbing full time. Providing tutoring services has been an excellent way for me to continue using my academic skills. Tutoring Experience:
I have over 10 years of tutoring experience at the elementary, high school, and university levels. I am completely familiar with the Alberta high school curriculum. I have worked with students from many different backgrounds, including students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Most of the students I have worked with have enjoyed significant improvements in their grades.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring style is to find different ways to explain concepts in order to adapt to a particular students needs and learning style. I strive to develop deeper fundamental and conceptual connections and develop general problem solving skills. I enjoy working alongside students and I enjoy seeing my students succeed. I understand how difficult some topics are for students and I am very empathetic when trying to bridge the gap of understanding. I believe I would be a great addition to any student’s learning journey.

Today his chemistry and math marks have both gone up at least 15% each. Evan has done an excellent job helping our son with his understanding in both courses. We will definitely continue to work with him!

Having been out of high school for 7 years and trying to once again tackle Chemistry and Mathematics 30, I would have been hopelessly lost if not for Evan. With his help, I managed to raise my overall average in both course by almost 20% from my old high school grades. Under his tutelage I even managed to achieve grades of 80% and higher in math, which for me was something I had not managed to do since elementary school. This surpassed my expectations. Evan was patient, professional and was diligent in making sure I truly understood a concept before moving on to the next. His schedule was flexible which was a lifesaver as I work full time with odd hours. My daughter’s Physics grade went from a 50 to an 80 in just 2 classes. He is very professional, very punctual and extremely reliable. Evan effectively explained and clarified all Math 30-1 concepts that our daughter struggled with and set her up for improved success in preparation for unit tests and the diploma exam. The fact that our daughter took Math 30-1 in French was not an issue, she simply translated to English for Evan and he was able to help her. Thank you very much!
