Personal Description:

My greatest passion is helping students pursue their academic goals, and I'm excited to do just that as a biology tutor. I'm particularly interested in tutoring science courses such as biology, anatomy, physiology, ecology, environmental science, and AP Biology. One of my favorite things to do during meetings is asking a student to explain what they know about a given topic verbally, helping me gauge their true level of understanding.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's in Teaching in Science Education. I also have two years of professional experience as a high school biology teacher and five years of private tutoring experience ranging from freshmen in high school to college students, so I know how to connect with young people.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important part of education isn't how smart students perceive themselves to be but how much effort they are willing to put into their studies. I always try to challenge my students to be creative and pursue their academic potential even when the material doesn't click right away.
