Personal Description:

A naturally curious problem solver, I enjoy being a math tutor to elementary and middle school students. Learning algebra can be a challenge for many students but I combine patience and humor to help with learning while infusing laughter into sessions whenever possible. When tutoring, I generally make people feel comfortable very soon after meeting me.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. My passion for helping people enables me to help people learn while my curiosity for the world helps motivate students that I work with. I assess a student's needs from the start and ask questions to help them see where they are at and where they would like to see themselves in the future.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel curiosity is a key foundation that builds a passion for learning. I love motivating students, listening to their concerns, and helping them lift above difficult challenges. Independent learning is important too; I'll have kids explain basic concepts back, assign problems to prove their understanding, and use mnemonic devices, games, songs, and real-world examples if they encounter further difficulties.
