Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the International Relations and Global economics program at Western University and I am currently pursuing a Law degree at the University of Buckingham. Recently, I completed my TEFL certification, allowing me to professionally teach English as a second language (ESL) to students abroad. I have 3+ years of private tutoring experiencing and over 5 years of academic research experience.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 2 years of professional teaching experience. Within the last 2 years, I have offered intensive private weekend English tutoring to High school and University students studying in Canada from different countries. I curated custom content tailored to each students learning needs and objectives, and utilized technology such as cell phones, iPad to help students research and learn new information.
I have developed a method of teaching utilizing unique concepts such as assigning my students to watch films and **Contact Detail Removed**vision programs, so that I could use them as discussion points.
Through this method, students were able to familiarize (immerse) themselves with the English language, allowing me to better coach them to a strengthen their verbal understanding. Each student was given a custom educational assessment at the start of lessons, to be better identify their educational needs – which allowed me to tailor specific education plans for each student.
In July 2021, I founded the English language school - an international English learning program for international students.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is active and practical. I want to get you speaking right away and familiar with the English language. That is why, before our lessons begin, I take an assessment of every student. This assessment allows me to pinpoint your level of English speaking, and allows me to tailor the curriculum towards your specific needs. Each of my classes includes basic conversational exercises - students, by the 3rd or 4th class, will already some small basic foundational words picked up.
Students are given small active quizzes, not paper ones, but small excesses that get them speaking the language bit by bit. At the end of the learning period, all students are given a graded progress report.
Outside of the class - I remain active with all my students. Usually I assign a movie or show in English for them to watch - this serves as a basic discussion topic for the next class. All students have access to my private WhatsApp, allowing them to get personal 24/7 assistance as needed.
