Personal Description:
I am a qualified Maths teacher with degrees in both Aerospace Engineering and Teaching.
I am UK based and becoming very popular with international ONLINE students; I have invested in all the specialist equipment necessary to deliver tuition online; all the student needs is a computer which can run Zoom.
Tutees tend to fall into the following 3 categories:
- needing advanced help to reach full potential and achieve top grades,
- predicted a borderline pass or fail at school and needing help to secure a pass,
- failed at first attempt and needing assistance with retake.
I have a proven track record with all of the above, and have a huge stock of examining body approved resources and worksheets specific to individual topics in the syllabus.
Tutoring Experience:
I have spent many years as an actual Maths teacher in schools and colleges. 10 of these years I have also been a one-on-one maths tutor; my 40+ good feedback on this website speaks for itself.
Tutoring Approach:
My usual approach for preparing a student to score as highly as possible in exams is to work together in attempting past paper after past paper. Doing this not only gets the student very familiar and experienced with what to expect in the exam, but also flags up areas of weakness. These areas are then worked on specifically until full competence is shown. This means a typical lesson is made up of half general past paper, and half specific topic.

Very prepared for lessons and great resources provided, and all topics explained with great examples. Huge support for homework help too. My child got a 9 in GCSE maths as a result!

From Shona (/5): (GCSE Maths) Ed is an amazing tutor - I cannot recommend him highly enough. My son was predicted Grade 5 EdExcel GCSE in his mock exam. He only began sessions with Ed in March and achieved a 6 in his GCSE - missing a grade 7 by one mark. Most importantly Ollie enjoyed working with Ed and his confidence in relation to maths really improved.

Ed was instrumental in getting her on track and In two years her grades went from 4’s to 7’s and her confidence soared. Ed quickly built a great relationship with her, listening and focusing on areas that she wasn’t as strong in… He is also extremely flexible often changing the days/times to accommodate us when needed. He was patient and took so much time for her. He made her feel at ease and she always left her lesson on a high. She says that if she hadn't had Ed to help her she would have failed. Today she received her results and she got a 4 and more importantly the pass she needed. We can't thank Ed enough and would 100% recommend him

Her confidence in, and knowledge of maths has grown immensely over the past two years and as a result, rather than the predicted GCSE grade 4/5 she was looking at, she came out with an extremely solid grade 6, missing a 7 by only a few marks.
