Personal Description:

I am an experienced English/Language Arts tutor with a B.A. from UBC. I enjoy seeing students succeed and make sure I develop a learning program with attention to both strengths and weaknesses. I have spent years gathering together the proven resources to be able to do so. My rate is just 30 dollars per hour. We can schedule classes in-home or at a public space during most weekday evenings or during the day from 10 am to 2pm. Please contact me if you have any questions or to arrange a meeting.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over fifteen years of success in English/language Arts, ESL,TOEFL prep, conversational English, Provincial Exam preparation and Social Studies tutoring. I have helped both public and home schooled students from primary ESL to IB English to university level. With my long term program, my ESL students have progressed to IB classes and have even won the top English student award in their school.

Tutoring Approach:

I have developed my own proven system that uses easily memorizable approaches to reading and writing which allow students to produce high level work even when they are not inspired by the topic material. Many of my unique lessons have been used in the BC public school system. In addition, my wife is a high school English teacher with the Surrey School District, so I know what the current expectations are at BC public schools and I use the very latest teaching methods and programs for maximum achievement.
