Personal Description:

My name is David.

I am a OCT student and currently tutor part time while in teachers college. As teacher candidate and tutor I have a strong passion for teaching and helping others. I strongly believe everyone should have an equal chance at learning and take different approaches in my lesson plans to accommodate my students needs.

Previously I was in the corporate sector and have over 7 years of logistics/ supply chain experience, working for well known corporations. In the back of my mind I always wanted to be a teacher and decided to purse my dream of a career in teaching while still in my 20's.

I specialize in grades 1-10 tutoring subjects in English, Math, Science and high school business courses. I also assist in writing/ proof reading essays as well.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring and volunteering in elementary school's for over the past year and have a strong passion for teaching and helping others. Students often come to me for help with their essays, proofreading and to help their writing skills.

With my corporate experience I can also assist in writing cover/resumes and coach you prior to job interviews. Working for well known companies and conducting interviews, I know what skills and key words managers are looking for and therefore tailor your cover letter/ resume to your job you are applying for.

Tutoring Approach:

As a young adult and mentor I believe everyone should have an equal chance in learning. I take different approaches in my lesson plan to accommodate my students needs. While tutoring I not only teach my students academically but also teach them skills that will make them successful in school and in their social life.

I do not rush tutoring sessions and if my students need a bit more time then I provide some extra time if needed free of charge.

Often I have been told that I am a positive and approachable person and easy to get along with. As a kid at heart I believe in being a mentor to my students and a coach.
