Personal Description:

"To realize one's destiny is a person's only obligation" -Paulo Coelho. If you asked me a few years ago, I would've told you my best subjects were science and math. While I did excel in both, I did not have a passion for either and could not see myself in a career that revolved around them. However, when I had begun grade 10, I had an English teacher that taught with such passion I had yet to witness before. Her love for the subject was so strong that I, as her student, fell in love with it too. Furthermore, people always say that one is bound to succeed when pursuing anything they possess an immense passion for. As time progressed, not only did my passion for English literature evolve, my developing skills within the subject did too. Today, I continue to learn and pass on that same level of increasing knowledge and passion to others.

Tutoring Experience:

While I have no formal experience in tutoring and teaching, for a few years now, I have always aided my friends and fellow classmates in the understanding of the courses we work through in school. Whether that be; peer editing their work, further clarification on instructions, or guiding their analysis of the literary works studied, even simply sharing my point of view, my friends and classmates have always sought me out for help in the English subject. In addition, in elementary, I would monitor the kinder gardens at lunch. Although there were no academics involved; I found myself easily communicating with the kids. Therefore, my personal skills with people would aid in my experience as a tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal is to teach others the knowledge they seek, and aid in their development of passion toward English, which overall contributes to a newly discovered desire to learn. I wish to teach others, the way my high school English teacher taught me.
