Personal Description:

A lot of my work with students focuses on exam preparation. I work with students who are preparing for the math sections on the SAT and ACT exams--it can be stressful to think about, but working with someone can make things easier. I am also ready to lend my assistance as a math tutor to students who need general math help, or who are studying specific subjects like pre-algebra or geometry.

Tutoring Experience:

I hold an undergraduate marine biology degree and I also studied writing. While completing my degree, I also worked as a tutor and lab assistant for biology classes.

Tutoring Approach:

I think that preparation is key. Early on in our sessions we develop a roadmap to guide us through the material we will cover. I want to help students develop strategies to approach testing situations with comfort, and secure in the knowledge that they have what they need to do well.
