Personal Description:

My tutoring interests include study skills and math. I work with students who are currently enrolled in 9th and 10th grade math, or who are focusing on specific subjects like trigonometry and geometry, or who are preparing for exams like the ACCUPLACER Arithmetic. I have always enjoyed learning, and as I tutor I always try to validate the experiences of the students I work with.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned an engineering degree, which meant taking a lot of math classes. I have an extensive tutoring background, from working with young learners as a high school student, to being a TA. Beyond that, I have been tutoring professionally for close to six years.

Tutoring Approach:

Adaptability is the key. There is no one-size-fits-all for tutoring, so I tailor my sessions to be responsive to the individual student's needs. I also think it is important for a student to take ownership of their work. As a math tutor, I offer guidance, but my goal is always that the person I am working with will gain the confidence to work through their practice problems unassisted.
