Personal Description:

I am a certified elementary school teacher with a BEd and BA in Geography, working with the Burnaby School District since December 2022.

Tutoring Experience:

My teaching experience first started as a pre-teen teaching toddlers how to skate. From here, I began tutoring in 2018 and have tutored English to students in from kindergarten to Grade 5. I have years of experience volunteering in several elementary schools in Burnaby for kindergarten, Grades 1, 4, 5, and 6 classes prior to becoming a teacher. As a teacher, I work closely with students in different age groups teaching all subjects. I have had experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism (including non-verbal), and those learning English as a second language.

Tutoring Approach:

I will be following closely with what the student is learning in the classroom and the BC Curriculum. My goal is to provide the support your student needs to succeed academically by helping them fully understand the content that they are learning in class. I want to work towards building on to what they are learning in class, so they have the prior knowledge to excel in the future and get ahead. I will not be assigning additional homework unless specifically requested. My last goal for tutoring is to ensure students enjoy what they are learning. I will adjust to the learning needs of every student and encourage a fun learning environment.
