Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Chris. I am a passionate and experienced math, physics, and chemistry tutor. I have been tutoring for ten years. I am friendly, easy-going, and organized, which I hope ensures the perfect learning environment for my students.

Tutoring Experience:

I have ten years of one-on-one tutoring experience. I have taught more than a hundred students in this time, so I am confident in identifying student needs and tailoring my lessons to them. I have tutored students aged as young as six all the way up to high school students.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to identify what my students need and what their aims are. I then tailor my teaching to their needs. I believe that the better students understand why something is done, the better they will understand how it is done. I also strongly believe in relating skills to real life when possible.

There are two ways that I can help students. The first is to focus on the basics of the subject; the hints, tips and tricks required to pass exams - very useful in a limited amount of time and ideal if the student has no intention to carry on the subject at a higher level next year. The second style of tutoring ensures the student understands every aspect of the subject. That is, making sure they understand and work out for themselves the rules and equations for each topic they are required to cover. This method is best if the student wishes to carry on this subject at a higher level after the current academic year.
