Personal Description:
I believe in helping others become the best versions of themselves through positive, supportive teaching. I was born in Ontario and won an athletic scholarship at a Division 1 university in Connecticut where I travelled up and down the east coast playing basketball. From there, I studied in Toronto, Windsor, and eventually British Columbia. I am blessed with a wonderful family, three dogs, and an adventurous spirit.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 28 years of teaching experience in elementary and high schools. I have tutored young people and adults for an equal number of years. I have a breadth of experience in many subjects: English reading, writing, oral presentations, math, science, history, physical education, and the arts.
Tutoring Approach:
To me, learning is power: the power to say ‘yes’ to any and all opportunities that YOU choose—instead of being stuck with the left-overs. I have always worked to meet every individual need so that each student feels supported and comfortable taking risks in education. My goal is to help students learn the necessary content and the skills to feel confident learning on their own inside and outside the classroom.
