Personal Description:
I am a former teacher and school principal with over 30 years of teaching experience. My work in special education has provided me with the expertise to work with students of all age levels.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been successfully tutoring for the last 10 years. We have just moved to a new home and I would like to make contacts in this new area.
Essay planning, writing and editing is a particular interest of mine. I now live within walking distance of Brock University and would like to connect with students there.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is encouragement and support while working on basic skills. I go to a child's home as I find that easiest for parents and children. I am finding that so many children are not getting the extra time needed to master skills in class and guided support is needed to increase confidence and improve learning outcomes. Since I am retired, I have the time to devote a lot of energy in helping your child succeed.

She is very knowledgeable and professional. My daughter’s writhing skills improved a lot from high school and she is in university now and still love to work with Carolynne.

From Rasi (/5): (Secondary English) We are not happy with Carolynne because she is not planning her work beforehand, not using the online application program rather using email. We are planning to go with different tutor who can use online program **Web Address Removed** to teach my son.
Reply from Carolynne: I had telephoned Rasi earlier today to tell him that I didn't think I would be able to work with Krushan. I felt his needs were more than I could remediate using Skype and I did attempt to make use of Zoom US a program he suggested but felt that it would not solve the problem. I didn't know until after I spoke to Rasi the first time that Krushan was deaf and my feelings were that he would be better served with a one on one tutoring. I am sorry that this didn't work out and am happy that they have found a tutor familiar with Zoom and hope that it works well for him. Carolynne

Thank you for helping me to write a letter. Though we had 3 hours time difference between where we live, you were very flexible and accommodated to my urgency. As an adult ESL student, I used to think to focus on syntax and grammar was more important. But you taught me that organizing thought was also critical when writing as well to communicate with others. I must say how much your personable approach helped me. You tried to find out what I needed to write by asking me various questions. I felt like discussing with you about writing my thoughts was like talking to a counsellor. Your questions guided me to find out what I needed to write about precisely. When having a problem expressing myself in writing, your approach profoundly helped me. Thank you again for helping me.
