Personal Description:

I am a 5th year teacher with my school board in Ontario, Canada. I graduated with a degree in Music Education, and I have a Bachelor of Education. I enjoy teaching math and I have a lot of experience working with young students. I am patient and kind. I believe that tutoring can make a postitive impact on students whether they want to get ahead in their subjects or are having difficulty connecting to the material. I have been tutored before when I was younger, going through the Kumon program, and I also had a tutor during University to help me succeed in a course in which I was struggling. I see the benefits of tutoring and I love to teach and see students succeed.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently teaching online with my school board, so I have a lot of school related materials at home such as my white board easel and math manipulatives. I have been teaching for over 10 years. I started teaching piano at the age of 18. When I was 20, I started tuturing math and language at a local tutoring center. I taught at the tutoring centre for 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to be patient and kind.

I always assess my students first, and see what their strengths and areas of improvements are. I like to use a variety of methods to teach all types of learners (e.g… visual, kinesthetic, etc). I have math manipulatives as well as a list of websites for virtual math manipulatives that I use to assist my learners.
