Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Caitlyn and I am currently a third-year UBC student studying Mathematics and Computer Science. I began my high school studies at York House School where my passion for mathematics and sciences began. My current studies at UBC have provided me with extensive knowledge in Mathematics, Computer Science, as well as other sciences that are beneficial towards my teaching methods.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the past 2-3 years, I worked with various high school students helping them in Math, Physics, and other science subjects. I helped with homework, preparation of tests/exams, clarification of class material and more. In addition, I have been a ballet instructor for the past few years at various studios across the Lower Mainland. I have worked extensively with children of various ages and have developed a strong ability in communicating and educating elementary and high school students. I have been teaching dance online for the past few months and have acquired great online teaching skills that would greatly help with my tutoring methods.

Tutoring Approach:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, my tutoring sessions will be online. My teaching services will be mainly geared towards high school students that are interested in help with Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Foundations of Mathematics, Algebra, Trigonometry and/or other high school Mathematics subjects. I will also be available to tutor students in any high school Computer Science or Physics course. My teaching methods will vary depending on what each student will need and what they are interested in. I can provide take-home work, help with homework and/or test preparation, go over class syllabus more in-depth, and much more.
