Personal Description:

I am happiest when I have the opportunity to tutor students in English Literature, writing and editing, linguistics, and English as a Second Language. I can also help students prepare for making verbal presentations. As an English tutor, I'm very conversational with my students and use as much hands-on activity as possible.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in English and Linguistics and then went on to earn my master's degree in Linguistics with a focus on Native American languages. I have experience tutoring all different kinds of students in a one-on-one setting including those who are learning English as a Second Language.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy getting to know each of my tutoring students personally. This allows me to keep their attention by using their interests during each lesson. Since I come from a blue-collar background, I can relate to students who may have doubts about their academic potential because of their own socioeconomic disadvantages. I can serve as a positive example to them.
