Personal Description:
I am a second year PhD student in Medical physics. I have a passion for teaching, human interactions and cultural exchanges. I have done my undergraduate degree in biophysics with a minor in math and went on to do a masters in medical biophysics and neuroimaging at the University of Toronto and now I am a doctoral student in McGill University working in radiation physics.
Tutoring Experience:
I started tutoring and teaching from 2011. I have experience in teaching physics, math, English and computer sciences, but I would classify myself as an expert in physics and math teaching.
Tutoring Approach:
I start by inquiring about the subject matter and talking about what the main problem is. Then, together with the student we can set a realistic goal and look at our options. I would like to engage the student by letting them do the questions and asking them to explain their reasoning. I find that most people are actually scared of physics and math and these subjects are not taught well at school, so my effort is to make the student realize they could do it and they could do well. I am available within 24-48 hrs by text and email when I am needed.
