Personal Description:

My name is Anthony and I am 25 years of age. I am finishing up my bachelors degree in economics at Concordia University and plan to pursue a career in Real Estate. I attended Vincent Massey Collegiate, and Dawson College, where I took accelerated math programs/courses, and I have been very successful in my studies. I would say that my best qualities are that I am extremely patient and understanding. Math as a subject, can be quite demanding. It is a subject that requires repetition and understanding. The challenge for any student is to find their own way to understand and apply the material their being taught. My goal is to help students properly understand the concepts they are being taught, and to also help them develop the proper work ethic to practice as much as possible.

Tutoring Experience:

While attending Vincent Massey Collegiate I tutored several students in younger grades. More recently I have tutored several family members, more specifically in Secondary level math courses.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is very simple. The tutoring sessions will go according the students' course curriculum. We will start by doing a brief overview of everything taught in the chapter. Also,each week the student must a set of questions that he/she has difficulty understanding. We will review those topics/questions to clarify any misunderstanding. It is very important that the student makes a conscious effort to realize what he/she doesn't understand. The student will have weekly homework assignments either taken from the textbook directly or that I will find/create myself. Lastly, the end of each session will require some reflecting on the major topics of the chapters covered, and the student along with myself will create a folder with memory aids on each chapter. This will allow the student to review very quickly every night all the material they have learnt up until that specific point.
