Personal Description:

Hi there! My name is Anna and I am an Ontario certified teacher with a passion for literacy. Having several years of teaching and tutoring experience, and possessing degrees in both English and Education, I am confident that I can meet the specific academic needs of your child.

Tutoring Experience:

I have extensive classroom experience in grades K - 12, and am also a certified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have worked as an English and Literacy tutor both independently and with a local tutoring centre. I have plenty of experience working with learners of all levels and abilities, including students with IEPs and those learning English as a second language.

As an English and Literacy tutor, I assist students (ages 4 - 18) in areas such as reading fluency, vocabulary development, grammar development, reading comprehension, paragraph/essay writing, and literature analysis. I also work with students to develop effective study habits and establish attainable academic goals. In addition to my classroom and tutoring experience, I have also worked for EQAO as an Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test scorer. Thus, I am well acquainted with the OSSLT and have worked with many high school students preparing to take the test.

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher and tutor, I am committed to assisting in the intellectual and academic growth of students. In order to encourage this growth, I believe it is essential to foster confidence in each student I work with. By addressing each student's unique academic needs and providing ongoing feedback and support, I can ensure that students make steady progress with each tutoring session.
