Personal Description:
Hi!
My name is Amber and I’m graduating from Teacher’s College this August with qualifications to teach both English and French. I offer personalized tutoring sessions for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, university students and adults, all conducted conveniently over Zoom.
Whether you or your child need help with reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, studying for exams, French conversation practice, or simply building confidence in the language, I’m here to support you. I tailor my teaching style to suit each student’s unique needs and learning preferences, and I’m always happy to adjust our focus as goals shift over time.
Tutoring Experience:
I'm a soon-to-be certified teacher (graduating in August) with extensive classroom experience in both English and French, working with students from Grades 7 to 12. I've taught everything from Core French and French Immersion to Grade 12 English, helping students build strong analytical, literacy, and language skills. I also completed a placement in special education, where I supported students with exceptionalities through individualized assistance and inclusive lesson planning.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is flexible, supportive, and tailored to each student. I know that every learner is different: some are motivated and just need a bit of guidance, while others might find the subject challenging or hard to connect with. I adjust my style depending on what works best for them. For students who aren’t naturally drawn to studying, I like to bring in interactive tools like games, quick quizzes, and other engaging activities to make learning feel more fun and approachable.
I’ve worked with a wide range of students, including English as a Second Language Learners and those with learning exceptionalities, so I’m always thinking about how to explain things clearly, break tasks into manageable steps, and offer different ways to practice and show understanding.
Most importantly, I focus on building a comfortable, encouraging relationship with each student. I want them to feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and being themselves because that’s when real learning happens.
