My name is Alice and I am a fourth year medical student at UBC. I finished my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with distinction (minor in Economics) as well as a Masters of Science in Pharmacology prior to starting medical school. I have been lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons to all ages for more than 10 years. I love teaching and finding unique ways to help people learn. I'm also passionate about sports and volunteering in the community.
*Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, I have been successfully tutoring students in all listed subjects via online platform; please feel free to reach out for help in online coursework!*
I have been tutoring for over 10 years- elementary school, secondary school, and university level. I love working with people and I bring in my own life experiences into tutoring to make sessions engaging. My years of teaching experience in swimming and in various subject areas have built up my skill set to help my students reach their highest potential and beyond.
I love teaching math and sciences and I like to break down concepts using fun strategies and analogies. My greatest strength is efficiency: time management is a priority to me and I make sure my students get the most out of each tutoring session. I also believe that learning should be fun and stress-free and I bring strategies for my students to ensure their success. While I am fluent in English, I am also fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and can tutor in both languages.
