Personal Description:

My name is Alexis and I am currently a student at the University of Winnipeg where I am studying education with a major in English and a minor in Math. Once I've graduated, my goal is to become a teacher as I have a real passion for education and helping students grow.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been working as a tutor since I was in high school, but I've been much more serious about it in the past year or so. I have experience tutoring students ages five to seventeen, and would love to expand my repertoire to work with older or younger students as well.

I also have some classroom teaching experience; I've served as a student-teacher in an adult education EAL classroom as well as in a sixth grade math and science classroom. I've also worked in a daycare and taught English online to students in China throughout the past few years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student is different, and so my approach to tutoring is different for every student. I like to not only do an academic evaluation of each student during our first (50% off!) session, but also an evaluation of their personality and learning style. This evaluation helps me to decide how I'm going to approach tutoring for the student in order for us to make the most out of our sessions. I will do everything in my power to ensure that my students are really benefitting from our time together.
