Information About AlexOakville tutor
Hello! My name is Alex, and I am an organized, friendly and unique tutor with experience teaching in almost all subject areas. I am in my graduating year at St. Mildred's Lightbourn School, with diverse involvement that pushes me to constantly learn from and teach others. This includes running a volunteer organization called the Milk Bag Project, where I teach middle and high school students about sustainability. I have been the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper for three years; as an experienced writer on world issues, I organize fellow students's work and help them form ideas. I am also a passionate, advanced visual art student. Next year I will be attending Trinity College, University of Toronto for a Bachelor of Science. I hope I can use my knowledge for us to learn together.
For the past three years, I have volunteered weekly to tutor students, beginning with teaching English and Math to Grade 6 students. This has now expanded to teaching multiple Grade 11’s chemistry and biology. I also have experience teaching elementary level art classes (Grades 2-5), and with assisting others in writing for the school newspaper. Each year, parents and teachers have expressed positive feedback as my students's grades and confidence rise significantly.
I organize my lessons based on how you learn best, whether it be through examples or analogies. I hope to guide you through challenging concepts, note-taking, essay/project writing, and preparing for tests and exams. My goal is to not only help you survive a course, but thrive! I will encourage you to play to your strengths (studying with visual, audio, artistic methods, or whichever strategy works for you) and hope to use my enriched understanding of many elementary/high school subjects to help you the best I can.
