My name is Aleks, and I adore teaching children and adults alike.
I am originally from Bulgaria but have lived and worked in London, UK, for the last ten years. However, after a holiday in Vancouver, my husband and I decided to move to Canada, and here we are.
I am a qualified teacher from the UK and am waiting to get BC certified as well. I have worked as a private tutor, teacher on call, and classroom teacher for the last ten years, and I love my job.

Tutoring Experience:

Teaching privately and at schools has allowed me to communicate with a broad range of parents and children effectively. I listen to the child's needs and talk to the parents regularly to ensure the goals are set appropriately and completed on time.
I ensure the lessons are fun and engaging so the child can feel confident in their knowledge and ability. I like encouraging and motivating them for their future and boosting their confidence in doing more.
I have over ten years of experience working with children with different abilities.
I worked as a primary school teacher in London. I tutor children privately, supporting them with English, Maths and Handwriting.

I also prepare students or potential immigrants for IELTS exams and Lifeskill UK. These tests need regular practice as it is all in the format. I ensure my students are well informed about their level before we start and set our goals. Communication is critical, so I strive to build a relationship based on trust and mutual respect with every student.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is based on the individual's needs. After the first conversation, I tailor the lessons to my student's needs and targets. I enjoy building connections with my students and value our time together. I like to think of myself as very approachable and easygoing. My friends describe me as an outgoing, committed and honest individual.
