Personal Description:

I am a diverse and adaptive individual who strives to positively impact through relationship building. I have had an upbringing in India (moved to HK age 10), Hong Kong (moved to Canada age 18) and Canada (Permanent Resident at current age 27). I graduated with a BSc in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Trinity Western University. I also graduated with a B.Ed degree specializing in Mathematics and IB from University of British Columbia. As a diverse individual I have interests and passions in all areas of life. I love sports and coach high school soccer and basketball. I participate competitively in sports such as basketball, volleyball, football, spikeball and climbing in my free time. I love music and perform at least once a month in a large group setting. I play the guitar, drums, bass and violin.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching and tutoring for the last 5 years and I am currently employed as a full time teacher at Regent Christian Academy. I have tutored high school Math and Physics up to Grade 12 and some first year university. I have tutored both IB and AP for high school Mathematics and Physics.

At Regent Christian Academy I currently teach high school Computer Science after teaching Grade 2 for three years.

Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy of Education is rooted in the belief that Social Emotional Learning should be a big part of a child’s learning experience. I tutor from a very relational perspective and look to develop a strong teacher-student relationship with each student that I tutor. Due to my upbringing and personality I am able to have a very broad perspective and I am confident in making a good connection with anyone I interact with. I love being a positive male role model for elementary age students and I think that it is important to model that for kids at an early age. I also love mentoring middle school and high school students as they search for their identity and plan their future. I love to make these connections while tutoring a specific subject depending on how urgent the need for tutoring the subject is.
