Personal Description:

After training as a teacher in Melbourne, Diploma of Science Education, (double Major in Mathematics, with Honours), Deakin University, I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, Monash University, (double Major in Mathematics, with Honours), a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, the University of Melbourne, a Master of Educational Studies, Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Adolescent Health and Welfare, the University of Melbourne. My teaching experience is diverse and includes Victoria, Queensland and England before returning to teach in Victoria.

Tuition Experience:

A secondary school teacher with 40 years of experience teaching Mathematics subjects. I tutor in all Mathematics subjects from Prep to Year 12 (VCE and IB).

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and accomplished in encouraging students to progress confidently with their learning. During the first session, with the student, I can ascertain the style of assistance the student will need to improve their understanding and potential in the relevant subject. I adapt my teaching method to the student's learning style. The focus of each of my sessions with any student is to improve the student's independent learning skills and enhance their subject knowledge.

From Linda (3/5): Margaret is highly experienced and knowledgeable. However, lacks self awareness in her style of communication. At times Margaret can be short, discourteous and dismissive of other peoples views or feelings. Generally with the passing of time, people may not remember what a tutor said or did (or how clever the tutor was), but they will always remember how the tutor made them feel. We are analogue human beings living in a digital world.
