Jonathan is a pianist and guitarist who creates and produces his own music as well as teaching keyboards and guitar. This makes him an ideal tutor for those who are not so interested in passing Grades as in learning to play their chosen instrument musically, perhaps with a leaning towards performance, recording or improvisation. Jonathan's approach to tuition is very hands-on, encouraging you to push at your boundaries and inspiring you to interact with your instrument musically as well as through optimum technique. He is very sensitive to the needs of the student and is able to put together a tuition path and regime that will get you to where you want to go. When I contacted Jonathan, I had reached the limit of what I could learn from online tuition and needed someone who could take me further towards my goal of improvising on keyboards. After only a couple of months, Jonathan has introduced me to, and helped me master, new rhythms and syncopation as well as inspiring me to play in a freeform manner. I feel this is exactly what I need to progress to my own goal of creating music using keyboards and DAW, and my interaction with Jonathan is both friendly and warmly creative.
