I left the trumpet after grade seven, save for the odd gig here and there, and have just come back to it properly after about 10 years when I got in touch with Jack. Despite my chops being in disarray, Jack has helped me strengthen them back up again with no less than the patience of a saint. We've gone through sight reading, fingering and lip-flexibility exercises that have begun to restore my confidence again to the point where we're playing some pretty jazzy numbers that I perhaps wouldn't have tackled before. Aside from being great at teaching, he is also passionate about the instrument and always a good go to person for which gigs to go to in town. Great guy, great teacher.

I've been having lessons with Trevelyan for a few months now and they're always a pleasure. He's as enthusiastic about teaching as he is knowledgeable and always tailors lessons to what I want to learn. He's always patient and really helps you understand both how to make things sound good on guitar, and why they sound good too. He's also flexible with lesson times too which is especially helpful for me. I really recommend Trevelyan, and even more so if you're into heavier types of music!
