Personal Description:

Hello I am Yun-Jui aka Ray.

I graduated from UCL (University College London) in 2015, obtaining a BA Geography degree. Since 2010 when I moved from Taiwan to the UK, I have been involved in various music performances and teaching. Music has always been my great interest and I have continued to engage myself in many different music projects from classical to folk/jazz/pop.

I started to learn the piano at the age of four and began to play the violin a year later. I entered the Music Experiment Class at Municipal Dun-Hua Elementary School in Taiwan since I was 8 and graduated in 2004. In the same year, I gained admission to studying at the Music Experiment Class at The Affiliated High School of National Taiwan Normal University, one of the most prestigious high schools for studying music in Taiwan, for six years (2004-2010). In the six years of studies, I majored in both violin and piano.

In summer 2017, I obtained ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction to familiarise myself with exam preparation.

In 2021, I did DipABRSM and achieved distinction in Piano Performance. I am currently studying to obtain PGCE and QTS.

Tutoring Experience:

I started my music teaching career in 2013 and have taught people of various ages and abilities both the violin and piano.

Tutoring Approach:

Students should be self-motivated and work towards their set goals and objectives. My role is to give them advice and share my music expertise and experiences with enthusiastic instrument learners. Proper instrument practice requires time and energy and I appreciate students who invest their time practising their instruments.
