Personal Description:

I started playing music in Edinburgh when I was almost 5 years old. Professional work has included:
London Symphony Orchestra - tours to Europe and USA. recordings, Proms, film music sessions including Little Women and Independence Day.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 15 years teaching experience, helping beginners right through to the Royal College of Music Junior Department and collaborative work in a Category A prison.I have posts at Rikkyo boarding School, Horsham for Japanese and at Danes Hill School, Oxshott. Also I teach 15 students privately.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer creativity and inventiveness during my sessions. Some students benefit from a sructured, methodical approach. Some people flourish more easily with a more liberal approach. Either way, there are so many pieces, exercises, studies etc that we can delve into along the way. Pleasure for some is more about getting the grade, for others it is about learning to make that ultra-romantic string sound or maybe to become a nice Irish fiddler and all that that has to offer.
