I am an enthusiastic cello teacher and musician. I love music, teaching and working with people of all ages starting from 4 years. I have specialised as a Suzuki Cello Teacher, as a Suzuki teacher I have a lot of experience working with small children and families, one to one tuition and group teaching.
I graduated in the year 2008 as Music Pedagogue from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Finland. After finishing my performance Master's degree in Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, I have been working as a full time cello teacher in Tampere, Finland. I moved to Aberdeen 2017 also to carry on teaching music. Along the years I have worked with small children, school children, adult beginners, cello groups, chamber music ensembles, conducting student orchestras, teaching music theory and solmisation as well as teaching in summer courses.
My teaching combines elements from various methods, the main two being Suzuki method and Kodaly method. The starting point of both is building the inner hearing. However, I introduce note reading in various games and exercises to all the students from early on. I tend to tailor the lessons for each individual and choose a selection of motivating repertoire with each student. Teaching languages English, Finnish, Swedish and Hungarian.
Additional Languages: English (British), Estonian, German, Hungarian, Swedish
