Personal Description:

I am an instrumental and vocal music teacher with 30 years of experience, both freelance and also as a tutor for music services. I aim to share my passion for music with anyone who is keen to learn.

I have two years experience as an online music teacher and offer both online and in person tuition.

Tutoring Experience:

While in Northern Ireland, I founded a recorder department with a local music service and worked on ukulele and vocal projects with the Devon Music Service. I now teach throughout Bristol and Gloucestershire.

I teach all ages and abilities, and have a great deal of experience in preparing students for examinations, from early grades to diploma level with the main musical examining boards.

In addition to my one-to-one lessons, I run a regular recorder group in Nailsworth and two ukulele groups in Bristol.

Tutoring Approach:

I base my teaching around a student-centred approach which leads towards a healthy, creative and inclusive relationship with music. I have always found that the best way to inspire my students has been to share with them the ways in which I myself am inspired by the music.
