Personal Description:

I am an experienced electric/acoustic guitar, bass and piano player, composer and arranger who has worked with, and written for artists such as Robert Plant, Vicky Clayton, Kate Rusby and Polly Bolton and bands and ensembles such as The Road North, Shifty Kook, The Birmingham conservatoire Symphony Orchestra and the Huddersfield Choral Society to name a few. As a student at the Birmingham Conservatoire I won the Daily **Contact Detail Removed**graph Young Jazz Musician competition with an ensemble called Tungan Groove.

Tutoring Experience:

I am experienced in teaching all areas of music. I am current the Senior Manager for curriculum at Newcastle College and was previously the Section manager for music. I have taught classroom music from primary to post gradua**Contact Detail Removed**vel and taught private instrument lessons for many years. I am an active musician who likes to teach privately for the joy of seeing the effect learning an instrument has on a childs development.

Tutoring Approach:

Structured and focused but ultimately fun. I teach notation and tablature as well as improvisation and composition. This means that the student will learn the fundamentals of music and develop their understanding of theory and harmony alongside technique and improvisation.
