Information About Thomasin - Hastings teacher

Personal Description:

I studied singing and piano at the Royal College of Music and have had a successful career in Opera. I have sung at Glyndebourne and Covent Garden. I managed to fit in a teaching diploma alongside my performance studies and have always found time to teach. I have recently retired from full-time Opera and would like to pass on my years of experience and gained knowledge to the next generation of singers.

Tutoring Experience:

I started to teach privately in 1988 and have been lucky enough to have had posts as a peripatetic singing teacher in various schools both in London and Sussex. I now teach from my music studio at home.
I have had many exam successes and no failures!

Tutoring Approach:

I place an emphasis on breathing, but my approach is holistic. I think breath control is at the heart of good singing but enjoyment is key as well. I can coach songs in Italian, French and German and help with performance techniques and audition nerves.
