Personal Description:

Professional music tuition for drums, percussion, guitar, ukulele, and music theory from a dedicated touring musician.

Tom is a charismatic full-time music tutor and multi-instrumentalist. He is incredibly passionate in sharing the knowledge he has acquired on and off stage to help inspire and inform each of his students.

Alongside musical tuition, Tom has spent the last 10 years touring across the UK & Europe. He's supported prolific artists such as Tom Meighan (Kasabian), The Blockheads, The Kills, Starsailor, Sunset Sons, The Subways, and Arcane Roots at many prestigious venues. In addition to tour supports, Tom has performed live at most of the UK’s largest festivals including Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight, Y Not?, TRNSMT, Victorious, Sheffield Tramlines, The Alternative Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Margate Wonderland and Wilkestock to name a few. He's also recorded in professional studios across the UK as both a permanent and session musician at the likes of Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, Monnow Valley, Echo Zoo, The Premises Studios, and Livingston Studios.

In addition to touring, Tom has also built strong relationships with a wide range of musicians and industry-insiders. His music has been featured on radio stations such as BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2, Radio X, BBC Introducing, Classic Rock, Planet Rock, Amazing Radio UK, and Amazing Radio USA. In addition to radio support, his music has been aired across BBC Sports, Sky Sports, and was even playlisted for the England's Lionesses team.

Tom is a permanent member of east-London desert-rock trio 'The Howlers'. All of their music and upcoming tour dates can be found here: **Web Address Removed**

Tutoring Experience:

Tom has been teaching music privately and in schools consistently over the last 8 years. These include Hampton High School in Hampton, St. Joseph's College in Streatham, Smallberry Green Primary School in Isleworth and at West Ashtead Primary School in Ashtead, Surrey. He's had the privilege of working with a wide range of student from different backgrounds and ages, ranging from 4-70. He has also developed a strong understanding of how best to tailor his lessons in order to meet the bespoke needs of each of his tutees.

In addition to offering casual lessons for those looking to play as a hobby, Tom also teaches certified, industry-recognised qualifications. These include the Trinity Guildhall, Trinity Rock & Pop, and Rockschool syllabi. As a teacher, he always sets out to find the most enjoyable and effective method of learning for each and every one of his students. Tom has a strong belief that an open and welcoming approach to learning an instrument is the most beneficial way of bettering yourself. This ensures a bright and enduring interest in music going forwards.

Tutoring Approach:

Whether it be casual, graded or specific techniques you wish to learn, Tom always provides a fun and interactive lesson plan. He also teaches the basics of music theory as standard, in order to make musical communication easier and more precise. This is in addition to encouraging your own rehearsal schedule and personal goals. That way, the results you want to see can be achieved in the quickest and most enjoyable way possible.

All of the above experience has allowed Tom to reinvent and reinvigorate the once traditional and outdated teaching styles of the past. This is shown by his mentorship and unique insights into the music industry, and the realisation of modern musical expectations that are required of professional musicians today. His teaching emphasises enjoyment, live performance practises, effective rehearsal planning, and strong personal discipline.
