Personal Description:

ONLINE TEACHING AVAILABLE! Tessa is in the 2nd year of her Masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During her time at RCS, Tessa has had the privilege of receiving master classes from teachers such as Simon Fischer, Leland Chen, IIya Gringolts, Lutsia Ibragimova and Joseph Swenson. She has performed in the Dazzling String Showcase concert held by the RCS and has taken advantage of the opportunities available by the institution such as orchestral side by side schemes with the RSNO and Scottish Ensemble as well as orchestral concerts with conductors Garry Walker and Jessica Cottis.
Tessa has taken part in various orchestral and chamber music courses. She was given the opportunity to participate in the EYO's collaboration with the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq in 2012 and lead the orchestra on its 2017 summer tour. She has been involved in NYOS as well as participating in NYOS Futures and NYOS Camerata and in 2016, performed with the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble on the Last night of the Proms. She has attended International Music Festivals such as Stift Musical Encounters in Holland, Cividale del Friuli Music Festival and Master classes in Italy, and the Aurora Music Festival in Sweden. She has also twice attended Music Works with tutoring from members of the London Haydn Quartet and the Elias String Quartet.
Tessa was invited by Scottish Ensemble to be their Young Artist 2017 with guest soloist Alina Ibragimova for their "Music is Power" tour in the Wigmore Hall.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked at St.Mary's Music School as a violin teaching assistant for the Saturday Morning classes as well as on the summer courses. Experienced in teaching children to adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to create a relaxed and fun environment where the student develops the confidence to ask questions and experiment with their violin. I encourage their self motivation and interest gained through the lessons so they remain passionate about learning in their own private practice.
